🍓 Quick and Easy Strawberry Sauce Recipe with Dried Fruit

This strawberry sauce will be a wonderful surprise to your fellow campers and backpacking friends when you whip it up in no time at all and present a fresh bright fruity sauce to top their pancakes.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup dehydrated strawberries
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 2-3 tbs maple syrup
  • 2 tbs (optional) jam such as apricot or strawberry

Instructions
 

  • Add dehydrated strawberries and boiling water to a pan over medium-low heat.
    Dried strawberries work beautifully to make a sauce for waffles and pancakes. A good handful will be enough for your recipe for 4 people.
  • Cover the pan and let cook for 5 minutes to soften the strawberries.
  • Stir and add butter and maple syrup.
    Adding maple syrup and butter to the strawberry sauce.
  • Keep stirring and add preserves (optional but helps to thicken the sauce).
  • Continue cooking for 5 minutes or until the sauce is soft and thickens slightly.
    Pancake breakfast complete with strawberry sauce.
  • Enjoy on top of pancakes or waffles or stir into hot cereal.
